Pre Arrival Tasks - What to do before you arrive in the UK
Now that you have your visa there are a few essential tasks that you must do before flying to the UK. Follow the instructions below and visit the Frequently Asked Questions or Contact Us if you have any questions.
Arrange Date of Arrival
Please inform the college that you have receive your Visa and ask us for the most suitable date of arrival. If another student is travelling from the same country as you we will help you travel to the UK together.
Book Your Flights
Please contact the international team to book your airport collection. Remember that we only offer airport collection services from Glasgow or Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
Arrange Your Accommodation
Please contact the international team to arrange your accommodation. All students must provide us with the details of where they will be living when they arrive in the UK.
What to Pack
Packing for a long trip in the UK can be a daunting task. Here is a list of items that out international students recommend that you pack in your suitcase.

Travel Advice
Travelling to a new country alone can be very scary. Our downloadable travel guide aims to help you prepare for your visit.
Top Tips with Travelling to the UK:
- Let us know when you will arrive
- Carry our contact details with you during your journey
- Call us if you miss your flight or your flight is delayed
- Let your family know our contact details
- Carry a telephone with you or an international calling card.
Accommodation Advice
When you first arrive in the UK we will place you in temporary bed and breakfast accommodation to allow you to find your feet and look for permanent accommodation. Please note that once we reserve your temporary accommodation you will be liable for the cost of this accommodation even if you change your plans and decide to stay elsewhere. We will help you to find flatmates to share with and a permanent place to live within a few weeks of your arrival.
